ARTIST STATEMENT 

I’ve lived in Southwest Oregon for over 41 years. Born into an artistic outdoorsy family I followed the family business as a third-generation hunting and fishing guide. I’ve been fortunate to have floated Oregon’s most pristine rivers and explored its most isolated habitats. Nature’s beauty has always been my teacher and inspiration.  I’ve always had a strong passion and love for art. Over the years a great family friend, Steve Esterby an exceptional wood carver has “taken me under his wing” so to speak. He’s been an inspirational influence with a different perspective.  There is a certain serenity in creating art, like a medicine or meditational experience.

Bringing naturally cured driftwood or standing deadwood that has run its course and achieved its many purposes back to life through art is beyond inspirational, it’s magical.
