A big welcome to new Dragonfire Gallery artist Kim Schult, who knows a thing or two about crows. Living on a five acre farm in Washington, Kim has ample opportunity to observe and paint a local flock of crows. Her highly detailed acrylics perfectly capture the wild spirit of these enigmatic birds. We are delighted to be the first gallery to feature Kim's paintings
Join us in welcoming Seattle artist Joanne Shellan to DragonFire! Spend a little time enjoying Joanne's paintings and her love of people and their environments becomes delightfully apparent. Using rich color tones and texture, Joanne captures and savors the essence of everyday moments
We would like to welcome Penny Forrest to DragonFire! Combining a fabulous color palette with lively texture and a witty narrative sensibility, Penny's acrylics draw you right in to the small daily moments that combine to make life wonderful and huge. Satisfaction is always the best when you stand in front of a painting, but if you can't make it in to the gallery, grab a cup of tea and linger over Penny's work here:
Michael Orwick and Anton Pavlenko chat with KMUN radio host Carol Newman about the 2015 Cannon Beach Plein Air & More Festival and their collaborative event, Dualing Easels. In this event Michael and Anton face each other over easels. At 20 minutes they stop painting and switch canvases. Four switches in total are made with each artist finally finishing the painting started by the other. This process highlights not only the artists' flexibility but great collaborative spirit and humor. Plein Air & More brings the talented artists represented by the CB Gallery Group galleries and the public together for a weekend of creating amid the surroundings of town, beach and forest. DragonFire artists taking part in the event: Michael Orwick, Anton Pavlenko, Rob Hooper, Deb Steele, Theresa Andreas-O'Leary and Dana Murray. See the slideshow below for glimpses of this year's Festival and Dualing Easels.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the "Mother Goddesses" out there!
Pictured below is Bell Pine Art Farm's Mother Goddess clay figurine. "Mother Goddess reminds us that we can look to the Earth for inspiration about mothering our children and ourselves. Regardless of our childhood experiences, all of us have the capacity to internalize a positive heart-centered mother image by looking to our beautiful planet for wisdom."
